A love-hate relationship

Article Abstract:

Manchester's 600 million pounds sterling Trafford Centre has been blamed for the poor performance of retailers in the adjacent city centre, but David Royle of Lambert Smith Hampton believes that the poor figures are the result of the IRA bombing in 1996. However, Carl Speight of the Association of Town Centre Managers is worried about the viability of future development in other regional centres and says that the Trafford Centre is discouraging developers from regenrating town centres.
