A movable feast: food products' growth gobbles global boundaries

Article Abstract:

The global food industry, although not as high-tech as pharmaceuticals, microchips and medical equipment, boasts a steady, sustained growth. However, the industry still invests time and money on R&D efforts and in keeping track of changes brought about by the worldwide growth in population and income. Due to its steady growth and large, competitive markets, the food industry always sets its sights toward a global direction. In order to be successful in the global market, companies must cope with transportation costs, quality control and maintenance of good distribution networks.
