Why the West is best

Article Abstract:

The West Midlands region of the UK is attracting a wide range of foreign companies. US computer firm Oracle is establishing a 20 million pounds sterling office near Solihull, England, while Hellmann International is creating a transport depot on a site east of Birmingham, England. The region is at the centre of the UK's road and rail network, and also benefits from the fact that Birmingham International Airport has direct flights to Europe and all leading US cities.

Northern lights shine

Article Abstract:

Significant regeneration efforts have been made in North East England over the 1990s, but there is still a lot of potential development land available. However, there are indications that business activity in the region is now picking up. New areas of activity, such as electronics and call centres, are being developed, and the office market is now thriving. The region benefits from a highly skilled workforce, as well as from good communications.
