A supporting role

Article Abstract:

There has been a revival in theatrical activity in the UK, according to Chesterfield Properties Chmn Roger Wingate. People are going to the theatre more often, and producers are finding it easier to gain support. Wingate himself has been interested in the theatre from an early age, and his company owns and manages eight theatres in the West End of London, England. A strong interest in the theatre is also shown by Shaftesbury Chief Executive Jonathan Lane. He is a trustee of the Theatres Trust, and has recently been appointed to the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Pay and display: top renumeration

Article Abstract:

Executive pay in the UK real estate industry varies greaty with some 33% of bosses paid over 200,000 pounds sterling annually. Some 40% of bosses are paid between 100,000 pounds and 200,000 pounds. The size of the company is not always related to pay, and Michael Slade from Helical Bar, who ranks second in the pay league, is paid more than heads of companies that are much larger. Pay is not related to performance either, with a 49% rise awarded to the head of Chesterfield which saw a drop in pretax profit of 22% in addition to a drop in net asset value.
