The port of Leith in Edinburgh, Scotland, has still to reach its full development potential, according to Terry Smith of Forth Ports. Development has so far been small-scale with residential, retail and hotel developments. However, the Scottish Office's move into purpose-built offices has turned attention towards large-scale development.

Several changes are happening within the commercial property market in Ipswich, England. The third greatest amount of retail floor space in East Anglia is in Ipswich. Tartan International has been picked by the council to help develop a business park on a 20 acre site near the intersection of the A14 and A12.
