Business and industry have been considering the benefits of small towns due to the trends of corporate downsizing, decentralization and the virtual factory. Ohio's rural areas enjoy and edge over those of other states due to their low crime rate, minimal land and labor rates, community spirit, low traffic congestion, the creativity of its citizens and quality education.
