Article Abstract:

The property department of Midlands Co-op have introduced a property management system and document management system into their offices. The staff have found the systems have been easy to use. The management hoped an electronic management systems would allow them to give customers an improved service and make the business more proficient. They worked very closely with Trace Solutions who supplied the software. Trace were chosen out of seven firms producing property management systems. Midlands Co-op staff appreciated Trace consultants were on hand to give advice.

Word processors have many functions such as formating text, changing size of typeface and spell-checking. A more experienced user can use word processing software to format tables containing numbers or text. To utilize the various functions the user must chose from the display of icons on the screen.

It has an extensive range of functionality and is designed to develop databases using basic modular building blocks. It uses relational database management software Oracle 7.3 and Microsoft Corp.'s Windows operating system and costs around 7,000 pounds sterling for a two-user licence.
