Underwear retailer La Senza currently has 42 stores in the UK, and hopes to increase this to 60 by the end of 1997. It is keen to establish a presence in all parts of the country, but is particularly interested in the south coast. It takes a mix of primary and secondary locations, and normally signs leases for 10 years or more.

Chiming with the mood

Article Abstract:

It is becoming increasingly common in the UK for retail developments to include a leisure or tourism element. Freeport Leisure's factory outlet centre in Hornsea, England, for example, has an Old English theme, and there are rides and amusements alongside the shops. Retailers are beginning to realize that there are significant benefits associated with being situated in tourist locations, as visitors often spend more money than they would do otherwise.
