Tempting offers to pull in buyers

Article Abstract:

Many banks and building societies are now offering extremely attractive mortgage deals in order to gain new customers and retain their existing business. Many more people are likely to be able to obtain a mortgage as poor demand forces lenders to abandon their traditional restrictions. A potential home purchaser should consider these offers as soon as possible, as they are unprofitable for lenders and therefore will be withdrawn fairly quickly.

Better safe than sorry

Article Abstract:

Residential land values in the UK will continue to rise, as long as economic growth can be sustained and new house prices continue to rise, according to some residential property developers. However, others are more pessimistic, believing that vendors are still demaning inflated prices. It is possible that there are too many large housebuilders, and some observers expect mergers to take place before the end of 1995.
