CEO confidential: do the Japanese really want you?

Article Abstract:

Japan keeps potential investors guessing its real policy on foreign investments. While some observers believe that the Japanese have adopted a xenophobic stance regarding foreign business investments to protect home industries, many others feel that Japan sincerely wants to encourage the influx of foreign business talent but is handicapped by differences in culture and thus, is taking its time. Muddling the matter is the fact that official Japanese pronouncements in support of investments are not backed by sufficient advertising directed at foreign investors.

CEO confidential

Article Abstract:

Democratic countries usually only allow people to choose their government leaders. A system should be established in which people can also express their opinions in referendum-type activities. This will produce a collection of official records of public opinion which may be very useful for business enterprises. These records will be more reliable than social surveys. Business officials can then use these data to determine whether a particular place is suitable for their enterprise.

CEO confidential: acres of diamonds in our front yard

Article Abstract:

The unification of Europe and the fast development of Pacific Rim countries have forced industrialists to rethink the role of Latin America in the Western Hemisphere trading bloc. The efforts of Puerto Rican development pioneer Teodoro Moscoso in developing Puerto Rico into a progressive market serve as inspiration. The potential of nearby Central and South America for strengthening the US market should be tapped before faraway lands are considered.
