Article Abstract:

US companies tend to prefer to locate in the UK, rather than continental Europe, according to automotive component supplier Adac UK Managing Director Peter Bird. His company wanted to establish a design-and-build production plant in the West Midlands area, regarded as the centre of the British motor industry. There were considerable difficulties associated with finding a suitable site, but Bird was more surprise by the issue of long leases than by the lack of suitable sites. He is relieved that Fuller Peison managed to locate a 3,716 sq mt secondhand unit south of Birmingham, England.

Hart of the matter

Article Abstract:

Hart Industrial Doors has reached the limits of capacity at its 7,000 sq ft unit on a 1960s industrial estate in Westerhope, England. It considered overcoming this problem by moving to new premises, but encountered a very negative attitude from developers. It has also decided against purchasing a subsidiary in or around the Midlands to gain additional capacity. It is now to extend its existing facility, more than doubling its size to 15,000 sq ft.
