DETR policy slated

Article Abstract:

The UK government should promote higher-density development in urban areas, as well as brownfield development, according to speakers at a Town and Country Planning Association conference. Speakers believe that the White Paper on new housing provision has some serious drawbacks, including being too closely linked with a predict and provide approach. Some observers believe that the DETR should revise planning guidance to permit a higher level of community input into the planning process.
