Corporate Real Estate 2000 - management strategies for the next decade

Article Abstract:

A blueprint of the Industrial Development Research Foundation (IDRF)'s research agenda is presented. The Corporate Real Estate 2000 - Management Strategies for the Next Decade is a program of interrelated IDRF research projects intended to establish new expectations for corporate real estate management. A new strategic model for the corporate real estate function is also expected to be formulated. The blueprint covers such topics as why the program is important, how and why corporations will benefit from it, what it will accomplish and how, and how IDRF can achieve the program's goals.

Corporate Real Estate's organizational frontier

Article Abstract:

The main principle behind much of the recent changes in corporate real estate is total management control, which introduces a strong customer focus to the real estate function. The principle also challenges real estate to align its goals and strategies with business interests. The five stages of real estate function development are reviewed. The five goals of research on corporate real estate organizational issues are established.
