Delivering opportunities

Article Abstract:

Towns on Scotland's East Coast are offering a number of opportunities for property developers. In Aberdeen, for example, the 90-year-old Royal Mail headquarters has become available. This building has potential for use as a hotel or conversion into residential accommodation. At Scone, Perth Airport is being sold. This benefits from a central location, and offers a gateway to the Scottish Highlands. In Stirling, building work is being carried out on the 40 million pounds sterling second phase of the Thistle Centre, which will provide 16,722 sq mt of retail space.

Old stock, old problem

Article Abstract:

There is high demand for new industrial property in Edinburgh, Scotland, but supply remains very limited. This is because there has been a shift from industrial use to office use on available land and because there has been little speculative development. However, there are now signs that speculative development work is beginning to take place. Edinburgh Development and Investments, for example, is building schemes at South Gyle and the A1 Industrial Estate.
