Article Abstract:

Crispin Kelly, founder of developer Baylight, is passionate about reusing interesting buildings and modifying them for use by media companies. Kelly, who studied to become an architect after he became a developer, occupies a lucrative niche that cannot be serviced by institutional developers. Baylight's latest project is the transformation of an industrial building in London into a mixed use scheme offering apartments and loft-style workspace.

The management of Countryside Commercial are looking to expand their property development company by taking on projects outside the Home Counties. The company has been developing a 229,000 sq ft site for Runnymede Council. Countryside Commercial is a subsidiary of Countryside Properties. The parent company is involved in residential development whilst Countryside Commercial is a separate commercial development company. For the year to Sep 1997, Countryside Properties had pre-tax profits of 9,305,000 pounds sterling whilst Commercial's profits were 300,000 pounds sterling.
