More than post-modern

Article Abstract:

The main benefit of the technological communication system known as electronic mail (e-mail) is that it allows rapid communications between people situated in many different places. Messages sent by e-mail can be stored in the computer and viewed at a later time. A new development in use of e-mail is the introduction of discussion lists were recipients can respond to a message either jointly or on an individual basis. Critics of the e-mail system suggest that it increases the amount of unsolicited mail and that it is not a secure method of sending confidential information.
