Finding and retaining a profitable work force in the '90s

Article Abstract:

A rising motive in industrial location is the availability and retainability of a labor force which can be trained and retrained to cope with innovations. Travelers Corp practices a five-step process in location decision-making. Initially, the demographics and relocation group identifies the business need and establishes motivations to find a location. Succeeding steps entail pinpointing possible ideal locations, estimating the location's real estate and labor potential and analyzing the demographics before deciding on a site.
