Realtors sometimes overlook national real estate market conditions when embarking on a project. Examples are given. Means are available for monitoring national trends, and astute realtors are using them. Charts show cycles of retail, industrial and office real estate replacement costs for a fifteen-year period. Phases of the cycle are examined. Suggestions for interpreting cycle information are made.

Tenancy-in-common real estate ownership: current issues

Article Abstract:

The salient aspects of tenancy-in-common (TIC) ownership, a type of investment in commercial real estate in United States, are discussed. The implications of IRS Revenue Procedure 2002-22 on this form of ownership and its usage as exchange instrument are also discussed. The extent to which disclosures related to TIC ownership should be made to the prospective investors is discussed.
