Fort Worth: Area Leaders Band Together to Attract National Corporations; Some Market Sectors are Holding Their Own, while Others Are Growing

Article Abstract:

The Fort Worth Corporation has been founded by fifteen of Fort Worth's leaders to promote Fort Worth through national advertising and personal calls on corporations. Fort Worth did not enjoy the growth that many other Sunbelt cities did in recent years. The private corporations' motivations are analyzed. Industrial development and growth is hoped for, but so is adequate control hoped for. Recruiting corporations is essential to Fort Worth's growth scenario. The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce has been diligent in recruiting corporations in recent years. Huge land development deals which have arisen in recent months are analyzed. New entertainment complex plans are also featured.

Tucson: Emphasis on Copper, Cotton, Cattle, Climate Broadens; Now, High-Tech Development Offers Incentives to Investors

Article Abstract:

During 1983, Tucson, Arizona's office space absorption burgeoned on the east side. Some growth is anticipated on the northwest side. Tucson will enjoy a boom with high- tech development in the next decade. Chase Econometrics has identified Tucson as one of the three strongest growth markets of the decade. Tucson is about two hundred years old, and is located only sixty miles north of Mexico. Tucson's population has increased more than sixty per cent in the past decade. Tucson's growth is characterized by co-ordinated development programs with incentives for all parties in interest. The market's viability is judged as strong through 1992.

Charlotte, North Carolina is known as the rising star in the South. Charlotte ranks first in the South and eighth in the country. This city promises 'quality of life' habitat. Cleanliness, low crime-rate, and quality schools are features often cited by real estate professionals. The multi-family housing market is very strong and booming. The hotel market shows steady growth. Industrial and mixed-used development is strong. Office space is expanding and being readily absorbed.
