Going into Orbit

Article Abstract:

Orbit Developments has not been a leading player in the retail or leisure development sectors in the UK, but felt confident that it could handle the 150 million pounds sterling, 80 ha Middlebrook leisure, industrial, office, residential and retail scheme in Bolton, England. This is based around the Reebok Stadium, where Bolton Wanderers football team now plays. Orbit, the development unit of Emerson Group, was able to make use of the group's multi-disciplinary experience. The project was an urban regeneration development, and therefore had to meet the government's targets for traffic.
