1997's Occupancy cost outlook: tightening markets, fewer concessions, rising rents

Article Abstract:

A survey conducted by Site Selection magazine on business and industrial parks all over the world reveals that real estate markets in many locations are tightening, with the demand for space steadily outstripping the available supply. The situation has again tilted in favor of lessors and this has resulted in rising rental rates and fewer concessions for lessees. A substantial amount of speculative industrial and office space is currently under construction but most projects are not scheduled for completion anytime soon so their impact on the market will not be felt until 1998.
