Impact of the oall appropriate inquiryo standard on real estate purchasers

Article Abstract:

The new oall appropriate inquiryo standard for environmental due diligence, recently proposed by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, is likely to have a significant effect upon the cost and scope of environmental site assessments conducted as part of property acquisitions. The objectives of oall appropriate inquiryo include identification of current and past uses of waste management and disposal activities, and risks from adjoining properties.

Extended producer responsibility: source of future funding for contaminated sites?

Article Abstract:

The United States, while combining its present scheme of environmental liability with the European Union's directives on the safe disposal of hazardous products, can possibly generate funding for cleanup of hazardous sites. The European Union's directives, and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) standards are outlined.
