Article Abstract:

US real estate developers can benefit from prospects offered by the Mexican real estate market. Developers should study the country's business culture, conditions, legal systems and develop business contacts. Developers should have the necessary capital for real estate projects since construction loans are difficult to procure. The government has instituted reforms in its real property sectors to address the problem of housing shortfalls. Some of the reforms are, reduction of property transfer taxes, allowing communal land owners to sell land to developers and the establishment of a retirement savings system.
