Labor cost trends in the Pacific Rim

Article Abstract:

Labor costs in the Asia-Pacific region will be directly affected by projected population decreases and other demographic trends. Labor shortages will become more severe and labor costs will continue to rise as a result of predictable changes in demographics. The changes will result in greater movement of labor-intensive production to low-cost countries, more rapid restructuring of advanced economies and possibly greater importation of foreign labor.
