Life cycle decision-making in 'new tech' firms

Article Abstract:

An appreciation of business cycles can radically improve the effectiveness of decisions regarding investments in corporate real estate. This is especially true in new tech companies or units, whose accelerated growth can pose tight investment decision problems for corporate real estate executives. Company officials must learn to recognize the phase of business cycle they are in to time the input of investments in the period that will maximize the use of the building.

Article Abstract:

Auction, private treaty or tender are all methods of disposing of property. At auction a property is advertised at a guide price initially and then a reserve price is set closer to the date of the auction. Sales by private treaty invite potential purchasers to negotiate with an owner and an informal tender invites offers from potential purchasers verbally or in writing. Auctions allow vendors to show that the best price has been secured which obliged to do so.
