MLS dispute heats up

Article Abstract:

Two major brokerages withdrew a total of 18 of their offices out of MLS of Northern Illinois Inc. (MLSNI) over the issue of data ownership. BrokersE are concerned over the licensing of data from the MLS databases to other companies by Real Estate Business Information Group (REBIG), a company formed by MLSNI in association with a few large Multiple Listing Services. The withdrawal can hurt the consumers of these offices as these offices would lose exposure throughout Chicago. MLSNI is making changes to get the brokers back.
