New breed gains ground

Article Abstract:

The demand for serviced offices is growing particularly on business parks in the UK. Companies occupying a serviced office are relieved of the maintenance and management of their buildings. Some serviced office operators are taking advantage of large businesses outsourcing their office management and maintenance operations. Industry observers suggest serviced office operators have insufficient investment and expertise to take over all aspects of property management for large corporations. Others point out serviced offices offer a very necessary service to their customers.

Healthy equilibrium

Article Abstract:

The demand for industrial buildings in Watford, Hertfordshire, England, remains strong but there is little evidence of new industrial development in the town. The market for secondhand space is also buoyant. Local agents suggest the supply and demand for office space in Watford is equally balanced. There is 9,000 sq ft of new space planned within the 2 million pounds sterling redevelopment work at Elstree and Borehamwood Station. Watford is popular because of the easy access to offices which are located near the railway station.

Sizing up the competition

Article Abstract:

Some observers believe that large out-of-town developments to the north of the area covered by junctions 3-5 of the M25 could have a negative impact on the small town centre commercial markets of Sevenoaks, Orpington and Swanley. There are few large buildings available in Sevenoaks, while Orpington has trouble attracting outside occupiers. The industrial market in the area will see changes as a result of the Crossways development at Dartford.
