National Association of Realtors members have until December 31, 2004, to complete a required two-and-a-half hour ethics course. The association rule calls for ethics training during every 4-year cycle, of which this is the first since the requirement was adopted in 1999.

Real estate professionals must be aware of the ethical and legal issues involved in the use of information obtained from the Internet. They must cite the owner or source of the information and assess whether that information is accurate before presenting it to their clients to avoid liability.
