Property turns up trumps

Article Abstract:

Increased returns from indirect investments in real estate are attracting investors who prefer the many advantages of real estate securities over real property holdings. Real estate securities are readily bought and sold on the stock exchange. They are available in varying amounts, making them accessible to both the small investor and large institutions. Other advantages are given. A number of new property investment products will be made available in the foreseeable future. Forecasts for property markets around the world are given.

Giving in to temptation

Article Abstract:

British property companies are expected to take advantage of the current economic climate to expand their operation. Larger, public companies will raise finance from issuing further shares on the stock market. A great number of new share sales are likely to reduce share prices, however. Investment analysts expect to see over 10% growth in the sector during 1997 and 1998. Investment fund managers will invest in companies which are primed for growth and low risk.

Relying on foreign funding

Article Abstract:

There is substantial support for the residential investment market from the Far East amounting to hundreds of millions of pounds a year, from both corporate and personal investors. However, some smaller companies could be vulnerable to political and economic upheaval in the region. If overseas investment continues to rise, the supply/demand curve for rented property could alter.
