Aylesbury: plans to expand

Article Abstract:

Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, England, has not seen office or industrial development in the four years to 1995 which leads to concern over shortages. New developments are planned, but they may not be implemented if there are no prelets. Developers include John Laing Developments which has permission for office space in the town center. The town does have second hand space, but companies entering the market tend to be related to the computer industry so are less interested in office space which is second hand.

So near and yet so far

Article Abstract:

Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire are both part of south east England, but the former is performing more strongly in economic terms, while the latter has been hit by a drop in UK defense spending. Buckinghamshire is set to grow more rapidly in terms of housing, though some infrastructure projects such as road building have been delayed. Luton in Bedfordshire is faced with the loss of jobs from manufacturing industry and the high cost of recycling derelict land.

So near and yet so far

Article Abstract:

The Cheshire town of Macclesfield has always been geographically rather isolated, but this could end with the completion of new link roads. It will then become part of the south Manchester office market, making its property sector less localised. There is currently a shortage of both office and industrial space, although a number of developments are planned.
