Sun's Bill Agnello scales the heights of strategic decision-making

Article Abstract:

Veteran real estate executive William Agnello has been appointed vice president of real estate and the workplace of Sun Microsystems. His acute vision of future trends in industry has been manifest since his days as vice president of real estate at Baxter Healthcare in 1989. He proposed planning and portfolio management at a time when nobody thought seriously about it. By 1991, industry researchers and executives adopted his idea. In 1995, he transferred to Sun Microsystems and pointed out the value of inter-unit cooperation and integration. This was adopted by the industry in 1998.
