Switched on to lighting

Article Abstract:

The issue of floodlighting at sports facilities situated in residential areas has become increasingly controversial in the UK since National Lottery money started to be made available for community sports facilities. This is because such facilities must offer at least 40 hours public access each week in order to quality for National Lottery funding. In many cases, sports facilities are located within local education authority school premises, and this can cause particular difficulties for developers and planners. However, opposition to floodlighting from local residents can be overcome through careful installation.

Put a ceiling on what you'll pay

Article Abstract:

Commercial tenants should ensure that any dilapidations required at the end of a lease period are clearly identified in their contract. The use of the arbitration service is a much less costly option, when the amount of dilapidations cannot be agreed. Some tenants object to making repairs, when they leave a building, which will improve the state of the property for the landlord. Yet by law they are required to make repairs which reach the standards set in the Building Regulations and meet British Standards. Some landlords will accept a financial settlement in lieu of the actual repairs.
