Tax deductions for victims of real estate theft and fraud

Article Abstract:

Owners of real estate may be able to deduct realty losses from their taxes if the losses stem from an act of fraud or theft. All or most of the property loss may be deducted if the property is used in business or trade. However, real property losses in which the property is for personal usually results in deductions that are only a fraction of the property's real worth. Other important issues to consider when real estate losses have occurred are covered.
