Tennessee - celebrating success

Article Abstract:

Tennessee celebrated the 200th anniversary of its founding in Jun. 1996 with optimism as the state recorded a very high economic growth rate in 1995. The state posted $3.9 billion in capital investments and $399.4 million in new and expanded manufacturing, corporate headquarters, distribution and industrial projects in 1995. Many companies are attracted to Tennessee's proven infrastructure and financial incentives, such as the Local Private Activity Bonds. Among the companies which have production facilities in the state are Eastman Chemical Co. and Nissan Motor Manufacturing Corp.

The Tennessee Valley: states of grace

Article Abstract:

The Tennessee Valley region, comprising the state of Tennessee and portions of Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, Mississippi, Kentucky and Alabama, spans 80,000 sq. miles. Almost as significant as its heritage are its booming economy and abundant natural resources. The Tennessee Valley Authority is one of North America's biggest electric utilities and supplies the power needs of the region. The region is a showcase of America's ingenuity with its expert mixture of business and culture.
