David Maister is an American management consultant and former professor at the Harvard Business School. His style is one of openess and simplicity, with no jargon to cloud the issues he discusses. One of his main criticisms of business is its failure to invest enough time and money in its employees, which he says are its most important asset. Another fault is the lack of time that companies spend developing relationships with clients. Marketing, he says, is more about obtaining better business than extra business.
