The importance of retail tenant type in understanding shopping center rentals

Article Abstract:

The significance of achieving an optimal combination of retail tenants to ensure the success of shopping centers is increasingly being underscored by professional advisers, investors and shopping center lessees. Notions of the manner in which planned shopping centers should be established have become the subject of academic research. A study on 293 New Zealand shopping centers generally support US theories on how shopping center space ought to be allocated and how rentals ought to be set.

Electric utility deregulation and the commercial building owner

Article Abstract:

Commercial building owner and manager may benefit from electric power deregulation by efficient allocation and costing of energy consumption. This will give tenants a reason to manage power properly. Owners must also carefully attend to a building's operation of high technology to avoid excessive use. The proper administration of utilities also increases the building's value since the tenant can make sure of a well-managed power usage.
