Wolverhampton Science Park, jointly owned by the University of Wolverhampton, Wolverhampton borough council and City Challenge Partnership, has seen a large part of its first phase, covering 1,347 sq mt, let. It is attracting small and medium-sized rapidly expanding companies from the UK and overseas which show a strong commitment to technological development. The next phase of the development could total 2,044 sq mt, although this will require land decontamination.

The retail industry in Glasgow, Scotland, attracts major companies from the UK. Tenants could be expelled as rents rise, and this would hamper growth argues Steven Dykes from Knight, Frank and Rutley. Two major retail developments are Merchant City and Buchanan Galleries. Buchana Galleries is not scheduled for completion until three to four years from 1995. Buchanan Street is a prime site which has developed a reputation as a fashion center.
