Virtual winners: stay competitive through quality

Virtual corporations survive because they are dedicated to their customers and adapt appropriate changes to meet the customer's needs. Forbes ASAP, a Forbes magazine supplement, cited superoptical company Lenscrafters of Cincinnati, OH, as a virtual company which provides fast service through its 500 sites. Flexibility and adaptability were cited as factors in helping Lenscrafters cope with competition and being known as a virtual company.

Canada's competitive cost advantage

Article Abstract:

A KPMG study reports that the cost of business operations in Canada is considerably lower than in the US. 'The Competitive Alternative' study compared the operating expenses of seven industries in 23 American and Canadian cities. The seven industries revealed varying differences, with 10.5% for computer software and 5.5% for telecommunications. Canada's industrial location, electricity and construction costs are also lower than in the US.
