Keith Busse's Steel Dynamics casts its steelmaking future in Indiana

Steel Dynamics, under the leadership of president and Chief Executive Keith Busse, is building a second plant in northeast Indiana. The flat-rolled structural steel products plant will produce product for the construction industry. The company decided to locate the new plant in northeast Indiana largely because of a good bit of consumption for this type of steel is in the Midwest.

Ohio rings in the new millennium on a high-tech note

In terms of new facilities and facilities expansion, Ohio is a growth area. As a business location, it provides excellent opportunities and incentives for companies to grow and expand and is capable of supporting a wide variety of industries. It is a self-contained economy, one in which a business can be started and have all the suppliers needed in the market. It has 20 industrial clusters, not just four or five. While an industrialized state, Ohio aims to grow its core competency industries, such as automotive and logistics, and diversity into the high-tech arenas. Topics include: boosting technology; preparing the work force for the new economy; tax cuts, deregulation too tempting to resist; Southwest Ohio flourishes; Northeast Ohio: a high-tech star; Northwest Ohio's economic boom; Dayton, Xenia: flying high; and Central Ohio: the heart of distribution.
