Wallonia's airports: taking off with TNT

Article Abstract:

Liege Airport in Wallonia, Belgium, is in the midst of expansion to increase its capacity in the air cargo industry. Courier service TNT Ltd. has announced plans to establish its sorting hub in Wallonia, capable of sorting 50,000 packages an hour. TNT estimates that its European sorting hub will ship about 200,000 tons per year when its facility opens in 1998. Liege Airport offers several advantages to shippers in terms of shipments to the European and Middle East markets. The airport both has rail and road connections which eases intermodal transport.

Where to find world-class airport sites

Article Abstract:

On-site airport locations with space provided for industrial, commercial, office, and hotel use are ideal for companies looking for world-class sites capable of serving a major global region. The best type of airport location allows taxiway access to the company's office door. Privatized airports offer the advantage of more consideration from the airport management. A new airport site in Denver, CO, will be a prominent world model, while new airports are under development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Seoul, South Korea, and Bangkok, Thailand.
