PrimeStar is marketing a 10-channel satellite system featuring a dish-decoder only three feet in diameter. However, PrimeStar is owned by a consortium of eight of the largest cable TV companies, including Comcast, who hope to continue their domination of home entertainment by co-opting the competition.

Talking on thin air: an insider's account of why Jane Wallace did not become the next Oprah Winfrey

Wallace and her producers hoped to avoid low-brow sensationalism like interviewing 'Transsexual Veterans.' Instead, their Group W patrons insisted on a greater proportion of these tabloid-style guests until almost everyone associated with the show was happy it was cancelled after only 13 weeks.
