Capital market reform on the road to a market-oriented economy: the case of stock markets in China

Article Abstract:

The Chinese economy has been successful in implementing economic reforms due to its restructuring efforts. However, inflation has escalated due to the growing budget deficit. Government authorities began to reform the Chinese capital market to reduce the inflationary pressure on the economy. The government encouraged state-owned economies to be listed in stock exchanges. A well-functioning stock market was the key in transforming the Chinese public enterprises.

What motivates foreign aid: a case study of Australia's aid to Indonesia

Article Abstract:

Australia has provided aid for Indonesia for areas such as rural development and health. Time-series data focusing on a particular country can help in understanding donor motivation. Recipient need concerns are seen to predominate if nonnested tests are applied.

What motivates transfer of resources: altruism or principle of exchange?

Article Abstract:

The study focuses on the issue of remittances and other non-monetary transfers among individuals. The study made an attempt to assess the purpose of monetary and/or non-monetary transfer that take place among the slum dwellers.
