Community, authenticity, and autonomy: insurgence and institutional development in India's northeast

Article Abstract:

The advantages of community formation in India's Northeastern administration and representative systems remain unrealized due to misunderstandings concerning the political process in the system. The misunderstandings are attributed to the narrow interpretation of insurgency and excessive emphasis on political violence. This may be addressed by promoting civic, national and developmental norms and values among the people.
