Foreign investment and economic development in Singapore: a policy-oriented approach

Article Abstract:

Singapore's export-oriented and business-oriented policies enhanced the economic development and prosperity of the country. Singapore developed economic factors that are conducive to foreign and domestic business investments. Political stability and a dynamic business-oriented population with diverse ethnic roots attracted foreign investors. The government also contributed to the development of the country by formulating favorable economic policies and active foreign relations.

Components of economic freedom and growth: an empirical study

Article Abstract:

An empirical study was conducted to analyze associations between economic development and disaggregated factors that correlate with elements of economic freedom. Results indicated that aggregate economic freedom supports growth through increases in total factor productivity and improvements in the accumulation of capital. Findings also revealed several elements that fall under three categories which promote the accumulation of capital and growth.

The efficiency of emerging stock markets: empirical evidence from the South Asian region

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to examine the efficiency of the stock markets of India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. The Augmented Dickey Fuller, Phillips-Peron, Dicky-Fuller Generalized Least Square, and Elliot Rothenberg-Stock tests are used to analyze weak form stock market efficiency. The results of the study have implications for domestic and foreign investors in South Asian stock markets.
