Historical, social, and personal effects of a war and battle: the Vietnam War, and the Tet Offensive

Article Abstract:

The Tet Offensive was undeniably one of the pivotal events of the Vietnam War. However, little research has been done to place the Tet Offensive beyond its military value and into the social, historical and personal perspectives. The entire Vietnam War was retraced from the perspective of one Vietnam veteran and his interactions with Vietnamese Gen. Tran Van Tra. In hindsight, the importance of the Tet Offensive becomes less pronounced and ugliness of war becomes more evident.
