Indonesia's macroeconomic and trade performance

Article Abstract:

A comparison of Indonesia's remarkable macroeconomic and trade growth between the 1970s and the 1990s with other Asian countries was conducted. During the early 1970s, much of Indonesia's growth was fueled by petroleum exports spurred by significant economic policy reforms. Between 1982 and 1989, however, Indonesia's trade was shouldered largely by non-petroleum products such as plywood, textiles and garments, which responded positively to new government price and investment incentives.

Idea gaps, object gaps, and trust gaps in economic development

Article Abstract:

An evaluation of the effects of human capital factors on economic development reveals that the social context is not static as some economists believe and that idea gaps and trust gaps affect policy development guidelines. Furthermore, trust gaps are also significant and this yields the conclusion that the study of economics is a multidisciplinary approach as it needs the input of sociologists.

Impact of trade reform on China's crop sector

Article Abstract:

A spatial price equilibrium model is constructed to evaluate the impact on China'crop sector of the government's removal of trade barriers. Changes in patterns of trade, prices, supply and demand, social benefits that accrue and transfer costs are measured to gauge such impact. The model also considers changes in multiple commodities by internally examing cross-commodity price effects.
