"La vraie culture": art et anthropologie dans l'oeuvre d'Artaud

Article Abstract:

Antonin Artaud wanted to replace western culture with what he called 'real culture' based on the primitive and myth. This hope ended after his trip to Mexico and time with the Tarahumara Indians. Upon his return to Europe, he was committed to psychiatric hospitals for 9 years and endured many electroshock treatments. Drawing the human body became his main means of resisting biological destiny. Artaud goes from observer to actor. Artaud draws man while erasing God. The text of the article is in French.
