Langage et appropriation: comment reinterpreter Shakespeare au Quebec

Article Abstract:

Quebec French seems in some ways better suited than standard French for translation of the works of Shakespeare. The sharpness of language and the spoken rather than written character of the language are better conveyed in 'quebecois.' Shakespearean interpretations by Jean-Pierre Ronfard and Robert Lepage provide examples. Article text is in French.
