Teaching French cultural analysis: a dialogic approach

Article Abstract:

A dialogic approach to the teaching of French culture is discussed, with a focus on the National Standards Project of the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages. Topics include culture as dialogue, cultural perspectives, perspectives in relation to products and practices, cultural perspectives in dialogue, temporal change in perspectives, and an approach to programmatic dialogue.

A functional approach to the teaching of the French c'est-cleft

This article examines the proper usage of the French cleft "c'est" for students of the language. The author provides a pragmatic explanation of when the cleft should be used, in order to obtain fluency in the language.
