Population and growth causality in developing countries

Article Abstract:

The short-term interrelationship between population growth and economic growth is positive. An analysis of 15 low- and middle-income developing countries found that rapid population growth results in the expansion of the market and the labor force. This, in turn, could result in positive technical and technological changes. Additionally, there is no feedback between population growth and economic growth.

Economic freedom and foreign direct investment in developing countries

Article Abstract:

A study was conducted to evaluate whether foreign investment responds to changes in levels of economic freedom. It also tests whether the insignificant coefficient found in other studies is caused by the level of aggregation in the economic freedom data. Findings show that foreign direct investment varies positively with increases in certain elements of economic freedom.
